It is raining, and it is coming down hard. It is a constant deluge. We have not seen this type of weather in a long time.
Whenever it rains hard, I am reminded of the floods in 1985. The '85 flood destroyed homes, killed people, altered whitewater kayaking routes, and generally wreaked havoc on the state. I do not remember it much other than the pictures of brown water flowing where water usually does not flow. I was safe and sound in Wheeling on higher ground, so most of what I saw was on tv or in the paper.
This picture sums up the flood and its devastation.
